Matt chose to do his project for a school that he used to attend. Through the years, there were improvements made at the school that resulted in water runoff problems during the periods of heavy rain. Much of the water drainage would flow together & end up backing up toward the school. Eventually flowing down the stairs & into the downstairs hallways & classrooms. These areas have suffered damage a couple of different times in the past several years.
Matt planned & installed 2 in-ground drainage systems for 2 different areas of the campus. The drains allowed water to flow into them over a length of about 9 feet & were set level with the asphalt. The water then flowed into 4 inch ABS piping to carry the water away from the school. The drain pipes were connected to 'bubble drain's a reasonable distance out into the school field where the water was originally intended to flow naturally.
The school really appreciated Matt's project & the improved safety for the buildings that were previously endangered.
