The residents at Creekside Rehabilitation & Nursing have enjoyed watching birds & having birdhouses in the backyard area. But through the years, many of the birdhouses broke or were broken due to storm damage to trees. Nolan decided that he wanted to build many new birdhouses for them, each & every one being different. Then they would also be used as an art project for the residents by having them do the painting. Nolan also decided to add a new bench for the residents to have outside to be able to sit & watch the birds.
The birdhouses were created by recycling some cedar fence boards each being unique in its design. The birdhouses were painted in very bright colors by the residents -- hopefully helping the residents to be cheerful & encouraging them as they watch the birds. The bench was handmade from scratch.
The residents were very grateful for the quality items that were built to withstand the rough weather conditions.
