Veteran's Flag Planting with Pack 977

It is VERY important that we have a good turn out for this event!!! We will be participating with Pack 977 to place Flags at Veteran's graves for Memorial Day at the Willamette National Cemetery. We should all sit together as a large group (Troop 376 & Pack 977) in the amphitheater under the large flag pole at the top of the hill.

The Ceremony & Flag Planting is on Thursday, May 21st & lasts from 6:30 pm to about 8:00 pm. Please plan to Carpool & try to arrive as much as an hour early so that you can get parking... Park near 'zone R' & meet up there to walk to the amphitheater. Youth & Adults should come dressed in full Class 'A' uniform (if you have one).

Some helpful tips:

  • Bring water & a snack to eat during the wait.
  • Parents should being a camera because the photo opportunities are amazing.
  • Bring a broom (whisk broom or kitchen size - not driveway size) to clean the headstones off. (Many times cut grass or dirt can be covering them up.)
  • Expect lots of people & vehicles -- be early & don't get stressed out.
