TJ selected a Project for Milwaukie Presbyterian Church - the Chartering Organization of our Troop.

The project opened up many new Walkways between the church (in front of the building) & the neighborhood. Previously, there were many, many bushes & plants between the church parking lot & the sidewalk in front of the church. In a way, this formed a bit of the barrier between the church and the neighborhood. The church also hosts many parking spaces to be used as 'Park & Ride' parking spaces, but the bushes made it difficult for people to get across to the Bus Stop or the sidewalk.

The project consisted of:

  • pulling out shrubs & bushes (including their root balls) that were planted between the church parking lot & the sidewalk in front of the church where the walkways were to be added,
  • removing approximately 6 inches of dirt for the walkways,
  • add some walkway barriers on the sides,
  • then back fill the walkways with gravel.
